Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, THANK YOU! Last weekend was a great joy for me to celebrate Holy Mass, Faith formation, and fellowship with many of the people of St. Paul Parish. “The days are long, but the years are short,” as they say. Being ordained for 15 years, over ten of which have been as pastor of St Paul’s, I am grateful to God for the many blessings, the great people, and the privilege to serve God’s kingdom in this way. Thank you all for the prayers, cards, and gifts. And thanks, in particular to the parish staff and everyone who made last weekend’s reception possible. May God bless all of us as we continue to fulfill our mission by the grace of God.
Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Happy Pentecost!!! This week concludes the Easter Season with the celebration of the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. Liturgically we wear red to signify the fire of God’s Spirit that is kindled in us, and, by our cooperation with His grace, should grow into a blazing fire of love to spread the Gospel.
Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Happy Ascension “Thursday Sunday”! Forty days after the Resurrection, our Blessed Lord ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of His Father, so that ten days later on Pentecost the Holy Spirit would descend upon the Apostles. In our Diocese this liturgical solemnity is moved to Sunday. So, while the math is not as precise, even so, we rejoice in the great feast of the Ascension and prepare for Pentecost the next weekend.
Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Sign-ups for Parish Photo-Directory Be sure to sign up for a time slot to have your picture taken for our parish directory. You can sign up on-line or there are volunteers in the Narthex to help you after the Masses. If you have other family or friends (even if they are not parishioners) who would like a picture taken feel free to invite them to sign up. Everyone gets a free 8x10, and the more people who get their picture taken allows us more options for printing the directory when the time comes.
