Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ,
His Church, and All People
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
What a Great Weekend!
Thank you to all who helped with the Parish Potluck last weekend. We had many volunteers get everything ready and stuck around to clean up after the event. Thanks to all who participated by bringing in deserts and sides, and thanks Dcn. John for grilling!
I brought Fr. Thomas Blau, OP, our missionary preacher, over for dinner and he too extends his joyous thanks for the great time had had here at St. Paul’s.
Thank you also for the generosity shown to the mission appeal of Fr. Blau to help the Dominican Order in Kenya.
Another blessing was the Hapii family, refugees from Ukraine, were also in attendance to meet folks from our parish and offer thanks for the assistance many of our parishioners have offered them.
Also, one of our servers, Nikolai Burke, celebrated his eleventh birthday, and his family wanted to celebrate it with the parish at the Potluck. So they came and even brought a cake for all to enjoy!
God is so good!
Feast of St. John Vianney
August 4 is the feast day of St. John Vianney, the patron saint of all priests. The story goes that on his way to report for his assignment in Ars, France, he met a boy on the road. He said to him, “My son, please show me the way to Ars, and I will show you the way to heaven.” Keep in your prayers all priests that they may live out their vocations in holiness for the salvation of God and the salvation of souls. Let us pray for more vocations to the priesthood that the Lord’s laborers bring in a full harvest.
Looking for a New Devotion?
If you would like to pray for priests in a particular way, there is monthly Mass for priests. Every 3rd Thursday of the month there is at 7pm Mass followed by a holy hour with rosary and benediction. All are welcome. (Please note this month the Mass will be at 6pm because it is the holy day).
Speaking of Adoration
Reminder that this weekend is the first of the month so we will have our regular time of Adoration and Benediction after all three Masses.
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Pfr
