Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Happy Feast Day, St. Paul’s!!! St. Paul Feast Day, Eucharistic Devotions, and Eucharistic Miracle Display
Immediately following Holy Communion at all three Masses we will have time of Eucharist Adoration for about ten minutes and then offer Solemn Benediction.
From Friday Evening, January 26, through Sunday afternoon, a Eucharistic Miracle Display will open for people to visit and learn about the many approved Eucharistic miracles throughout the world. Check the flyer in the bulletin.
I invite everyone to take some time to admire and perhaps even pray with the new image that was installed on the north facade of the old chapel. It is an image of St. Paul but in honor of the Eucharistic Revival, he is shown holding the Sacred Host and chalice, for it is St. Paul who writes, “For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes” (1 Cor 11:26).
Do not be afraid to take some extra time in silence, worship and love of God present among us in the Blessed Sacrament, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity.
St. Paul Novena Hopefully you picked up your St. Paul novena pamphlet last week or have followed on our website. It started January 25, but if not there more copies in the narthex. Please make an effort to pray these prayers at your homes every day of the novena (and beyond if the Holy Spirit calls you). Christian prayer is efficacious, but we have to pray it. God will answer our prayers (even if not on our timetable or in ways we expect, but He does answer), but we must do our part and ask Him! Perseverance in the spiritual life is key.
Candlemas Day – February 2 The St. Paul novena ends on February 2. As this feast is one emphasizing the light of Christ (how appropriate for our parish since it was the light of Christ that blinded St. Paul), we still have our Christmas and feast day decorations up to celebrate. We normally bless candles on this day as well. If you have candles to be blessed, please bring them to the church on February 2 at the 8:30am Mass. I am out of town so Fr. Sal will be there. If you cannot bring your candles on that day, then bring them any other time and I can still bless them.
