Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Happy Feast of Christ the King! Remember Christ is King of the universe for He is the Word of God through Whom all things are made. Remember Christ is the King of our world, and no nation, no man made law or government can usurp His sovereignty; for He reigns with love, peace, and justice. Remember Christ is King of our hearts for He rules as a humble servant, granting us grace upon grace. Remember who you are, and live without fear but with faith for you are a subject of His Kingdom destined to live with Him forever.
Holy Hours and Faith Formation As we get used to this new Sunday schedule, there are some other opportunities for people to grow in our Catholic Faith. In response to suggestions from the Listening Sessions and recent surveys, we will add a Holy Hour on the 1st Sunday of the month. It will happen in between the two Masses from 9:15-10:15. Then on the 3rd Sunday of the month will be a Faith Formation session in the PAC from 9:15-10:15. This will allow people the flexibility to participate in multiple events. First Holy Hour begins next Sunday Dec. 3 from 9:15-10:15am. During that time I will also be available for confessions.
Parish and Finance Report This weekend I am giving our annual finance report. The past couple years we have not given a yearly parish report. Certain factors (Covid being the main one) resulted in our parish falling behind in our reporting for the diocese. The diocese too is back logged on the oversight they have over parish finances. I want to thank Jeff Kendro, Vicki Williamson, Jeanne Bearer, Hallie Wolff, and the finance council for all their hard work to prepare the report. When it comes to finances, none of it is possible without your generosity. Thank you all for that continued generosity as we move forward to fulfill the mission God has given us.
Ecumenical Christmas Concert Be sure to enjoy an evening of prayer and song as we continue to host the Firestone Park Annual Ecumenical Christmas Concert. It is always a blessing to host and participate in this event for our local community. Come and show you support as we all prepare for this holy season. The concert is at 7pm on Saturday Dec. 2.
