Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Eucharistic Procession on Friday! Join us for a Eucharistic Procession on Friday, Oct. 28 after the 5:30pm Mass. The procession will form at 6:30 and we will walk south half a mile on Brown Street concluding with prayers and Solemn Benediction at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. Fr. Sal generously welcomed us to do this a few years ago (you may remember) and is doing so again. In a particular way we pray for him and his family as there is still much turmoil in his home country. Bishop Malesic has given his permission and blessing on this event and we thank him for his encouragement as we do our part in fostering a Eucharistic Revival in our area. Come and show forth your love for our Lord in the Eucharist!
Priesthood Sunday Next Week Next weekend we will give thanks to God for establishing the holy priesthood for the upbuilding of the Church. Our Diocese is blessed that we have a diocesan seminary where men are trained as priests within their home diocese. Our bishop is showing continued faith in our seminary as he has invested further resources in it to provide holy priests for the future. It is for the renovation of the seminary building that we conducted the Heart of the Shepherd Campaign about a year ago. Thank you again to all who are continuing to fulfill their pledge. Remember too, that a substantial percentage of your pledge comes back to our parish! Especially during these times, it is ever a sacrifice, but God always blesses generosity. Keep up the great work!
We are also blessed that a seminarian will be with us next weekend to speak at the Masses. He will be available after the Masses as well to answer questions and receive your expressions of appreciation. On that note, if there are any young men who are interested in learning more about the seminary, vocations, and how God is calling you please call me this week. We can set up an informal meeting with our guest seminarian to answer questions. There are also other opportunities to learn more, so call the me at the rectory. Also, we have parishioners including myself who are Serra club members. The Serra Club is named after St. Junipero Serra, a missionary priest to the western coast of our country. They aim to help people grow in holiness by fostering priestly and religious vocations through prayer and support. Check out this website and consider becoming a member - https://serraus.org
