Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Coming Soon: Heart of the Shepherd Campaign Perhaps you have heard of The Heart of the Shepherd Campaign for the Cleveland Diocese. This is a fundraising endeavor that Bishop Perez started way back before Covid started in order to renovate the seminary building, which has needed major work for years. Most of the parishes of the diocese have already gone through it, and we are slated to have ours in the next couple months. We will have a goal to reach, but one advantage (other than helping our seminarians prepare for the priesthood) is that 60-70% of the total amount raised will come back to the parish for a designated project(s)! I am meeting with finance council and with representatives from the diocese to work out the details. I will share those details with you in next couple weeks. In the meantime, please pray for our seminarians and their professors, and pray about how we can best assist them through this campaign.
Thank You Garrison Stone Parishioner Garrison Stone has completed his Eagle Scout Project, which included the painting of the Narthex and Family (cry) Room. The Narthex is the entryway into the Church and for the majority of people, is the first thing they see. We have great volunteers who clean it (and the church) every week, but the walls were starting to look bad. Garrison stepped up and organized a team to get it done. He did a great job and has saved the parish from having to pay for it! As a bonus there is one more element he is working on to put the finishing touches on the narthex, but that is a surprise. Be on the lookout the next couple weeks; the finishing touches will be quite noticeable.
