What follows below is a briefer version with a petition form at the bottom:
I have received some requests to offer an Extraordianry Form Mass at St. Paul's. I brought the idea to Pastoral Council and sought their input. After reflection and discussion, we concluded that it would be prudent to propose a new Mass schedule including an Extra.Form Mass in order to intentionally reach out to those who desire this Form. Even as many things are changing, and while we have faith that God will guide us, this could be a very prudent time to discern how the Lord may be leading us to something new. The new proposal is this:
We offer this new proposal in order to address concerns about changing the schedule too much. This goes back to our pre-Covid schedule except moving the old 11am to 15 minutes later in order to make enough room for the new 9:30am EF Mass.
We will be taking extra time to discern this proposal. So the tentative start date would be Sept.20. Even if we do this, it would be a trial period of ten weeks. At which time we will further discern how to move forward into 2021
We welcome your input. Please feel free to contact the rectory by phone or through email or the Suggestion Boxes in the Narthex. In addition, this and the next two weekends, I will also invite people to remain in the church after all weekend Masses where I can answer questions, offer clarifications, and hear comments.
No matter what the schedule is, there are certain preferences or conveniences that cannot be met for all. I thank everyone for their continued willingness to adjust in our changing times. We aim to stay as steady as we can, but our hope is even though change can be unsettling, change can enliven as well. Since we are in a time of constant change, perhaps this is a way to welcome anew God’s grace in our parish. A possible beatitude here could be “Blessed are the flexible for they will not be bent out of shape.”
Feel free to fill out the Petition Form below to help us discern moving forward regarding adding the EF Mass at St. Paul's.
