Cantor Ministry-Those serving in the cantor ministry lead the assembly in singing the mass. A cantor has a pleasant soloist voice, excellent musicianship, and exemplifies an attitude of servitude with the desire to minister to God’s church by proclaiming the gospel through music. This ministry is open to junior high age students-through mature adults through audition. We rehearse once a month on the last Tuesday or first Tuesday of the month in the church @ 6:30 p.m. Cantors serve according to their availability.
St. Paul Ringers (Handbell Choir) Intergenerational Handbell Choir is a ministry team of 11 individuals from 5
th grade through mature adults. Attendance at rehearsals is essential due to the cooperative nature of the bell choir. We rehearse at the convenience of the group’s schedule which thus far is Sunday afternoons from 1:15-2:30.
Adult Choir-We have a traditional choir that sings in unison as well as 2-3 parts. Membership is open age 12 - mature adults. We rehearse from September-Corpus Christi on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00. We sing on a rotation schedule for 4:30 vigil and 11:30 Sunday mass. Our service is ministry to the church first through sacred music. Toward that end, the importance of vocal warm-ups and music reading skills are valued.
Schola-This newly formed group is the choir for the EF mass at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. Membership is open to age 12-mature adults. Gregorian Chant will be the main vehicle of music in the Latin Rite, with the possibility of additional polyphony added as we grow. In the beginning, they will sing for mass once a month with rehearsal day to be determined by the schedule of the group members.
