Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Updated Website
Be sure to check out our updated parish website at stpaulakron.org. List it as one of your favorites. We are still adding content and hoping it becomes a useful resource for our parishioners but also for new folks who may be looking to join or even non-Catholics who are interested in the Church. We welcome any thoughts on how to improve it. Thank you to Don Howe for helping get this going.
Fortnight for Freedom
The annual two-week period of prayer and penance for our country is from June 21-July 4.
Pope Francis said, “[Religious] freedom remains one of America's most precious possessions. And, as my brothers, the United States Bishops, have reminded us, all are called to be vigilant, precisely as good citizens, to preserve and defend that freedom from everything that would threaten or compromise it.” We will be adding special prayers after Masses during this time to thank God for our freedoms and to ask for His grace that we may live freedom the right way by giving God glory and serving our neighbor.
Stewards of the Land Ministry
Thank you to all who helped make our campus look so beautiful. The trimming, mulching, planting, and watering that has happened really reminds us of the renewal that God gives to all of us in our lives. I am thankful we have many generous people who donated their time, talent, and treasure to this endeavor. And it does not stop here. This weekend you will hear from parishioner Andrea Reddest about a new parish group called Stewards of the Land. This will be an opportunity for all of us to reflect on how each of us contributes to the parish mission.
Masses of Thanksgiving
A reminder that on the weekend of June 30, July 1 will be special Masses of Thanksgiving offered in thanks to God for the 92 years of having a parish day school as part of our parish education ministry. Our hope is that many will come to celebrate by participating at Mass, taking a walk through the school, and enjoying fellowship in the PAC afterwards. Please plead the word and join us.
May God bless you!
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Pfeiffer
