Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus, His Church, and All People
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Solemnity of Corpus Christi This weekend at the 10am Mass there will be a Procession of the Blessed Sacrament in honor of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. As long as the weather cooperates we will process outside as well. We of course will need to maintain social distancing. After Holy Communion people may follow us in the procession. For those who wish to stay in the Church during that time (about 10 min.) can remain there in prayer. The procession will return to the church and conclude with Benediction. Even during these times, and really especially during these times, processions are powerful reminders of who we are and a great witness to our belief in the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. While I really encourage people to be present, we understand if folks are not ready yet. If you cannot be with us, please unite your prayers to ours from your home.
“The Return” Continues Based upon the feedback we received, people thought the last two weekends went well keeping the proper reverence while helping people feel safe and disposed to worship God. I would say the church and narthex were comfortably full. “Full” meaning at the appropriate capacity while maintaining six feet of distance. We also set up the PAC for overflow with a projector for people to watch the livestream. Thus we will continue with the 10am Sunday Mass schedule for the month of June. As attendance changes we will reexamine at the end of the month. We will continue Live-streaming this 10am Mass on our facebook page and website, stpaulakron.org
The daily Masses follow the regular schedule.
The Church will have open hours on Tuesday from 9am-noon.
There is a new confession time: 4-5pm on Fridays followed by the 5:30 Extraordinary Form Mass. Of course confessions can also be made by appointment if that is one’s preference.
As I said last week, we are open to input on how to best implement our “return.” Feel free to contact us with your thoughts. As always keep checking the website for updated information.
