Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Catholic Charities Appeal
This weekend is the first of two opportunities to support the Catholic Charities Annual Diocesan Appeal. The second weekend will be in a few months. This weekend we will hear a recording from Bishop Perez, who graciously chose one of his final acts as bishop of Cleveland to be with us on our Feast day two weeks ago. This year’s theme is “Faces of Hope: Though We are Many, We are One in Christ.” Please know that even though this is a diocesan collection, the benefits come back to helping our area. There are people in our parish who benefit from Summit County Catholic Charity services. I know that there are many good initiatives that end up competing for our generosity and there is only so much we have to donate. Please pray and discern how you can best support this collection. Thank for your past and continued support of Catholic Charities.
Taste of St. Paul’s
Be sure to check out the Taste of St. Paul’s. This is one of our Centenary events highlighting the cuisine of parishioners. And it look like a wonderfully diverse group this year! Thank you to all who are participating and prepared for this event. Please stop on by and support your fellow parishioners and come hungry!
New Lighting!
You will probably notice a bit of a difference in the lights, especially if you sit in the side sections of the church. We are in the process of transitioning to LED lighting which will save the parish a significant amount of money on maintenance and electrical costs. The next steps will be switching out the main nave and the sanctuary lights. You will see an increase in brightness as well which should help in overall clarity in the church and assist those who follow the Mass using the Pew Missals.
Feast Day Commemorative Book for Parishioners!
In honor of our feast there is a Commemorative Centenary Book of St. Paul Parish. You will see copies in the Narthex after all the Masses this weekend. We ask that there be one per family and please feel free to offer a donation to offset the cost of printing the books. Thank you to our Centenary Committee for all their work in making this book happen. We hope you enjoy it as it will bring back memories and remind us of how God has always been with our parish in the past; He is with us now; and will continue to guide us forward.
More Faith Formation
Be sure to check out the list of topics coming up the next few weeks. Enjoy some coffee, donuts, fellowship and formation in our faith so we can continually grow as disciples of Christ!
Sincerely in Christ,
Fr. Pfr
