Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Easter Season Continues! Just as our Lord stayed with His disciples for forty days until His Ascension, so we meditate during this time on the truth of the Resurrection in our lives. How are we living and witnessing to that truth, the truth on which the whole world is now hinged, whether the world knows it or not. People often speak of being on the “right side of history.” Well history is centered on the person of Christ and His victory over death. That’s the side we want to be on.
Faith Formation Returns in May - 1st and 3rd Monday Nights We are just getting back into a more formal and scheduled Adult Faith Formation. So, we will try 1st and 3rd Monday nights from 6-7pm. Our men’s and women’s groups meet on the second and fourth Mondays, so this will complement that schedule. Faith Formation sessions will be in the church and include at least some time in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament. This month’s topics: May 2 - Near or Far?: The Transcendence and Immanence of God in the Liturgy. How do we approach God? Do we see Him as far off and inaccessible or do we experience Him as close to our heart and individual struggles? In this reflection I will offer a meditation on these different approaches and how Christ bridges the gap.
May 16 - What about Virtue? Being Christian amidst the Enlightened and Woke. Nowadays we hear of “woke-ness,” and we often see others signal approval for many progressivistic attitudes. In this reflection we meditate on how to discern and rightly stand up for what is good, true, and beautiful.
The Formation sessions will also be recorded and posted on our website for those unable to attend in person.
Cluster Parish Rosary Through May The four parishes of our cluster want to foster devotion to our Blessed Mother during her month. So, on select Tuesdays there will be Marian Devotions including the rosary at our parishes. May 10 - Queen of Heaven, May 17 - Nativity, May 24 - St. Francis de Sales, May 31 - St. Paul Each starts at 7pm and is a great way to connect in prayer with folks from other parishes in honor of our Lady.
