Encouraging the Culture of Encounter with Jesus Christ, His Church, and All People
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
St. Paul’s Swag and Active Wear Last weekend we had some samples of new St. Paul Parish “Swag.” This weekend and next you have a chance to order items. Volunteers will be in the Narthex after Masses. You can fill out the form and cut a check right there, or simply take the form home and bring it back with your check. The order form can also be downloaded on the website (sorry you cannot make the order online though). So, make a list of hoodies, polos, mugs, and stickers you want to use to support St. Paul’s. The order forms need to be returned to the rectory by August 18th.
Traditionis Custodes Update The pope’s latest decision effecting the celebration of the Extraordinary Form of the Mass is still being reviewed by our bishop. On Wednesday I had a meeting with him and other priests who celebrate this Form of the Mass. At the time of this writing, I have not met with him yet. I will keep everyone updated as things progress. Even if one does not attend the Traditional Latin Mass, please remember we are all one body in Christ. When one member is affected, all are. Just as we share with our fellow Christians our joys and hopes, we should also empathize with the sorrows and frustrations of others. We always want to unite our hearts together in the prayer of Christ, whether that prayer is in Latin or English, whether it is more structured or spontaneous. For now, Masses will continue as scheduled, but I invite everyone to pray and fast so that we all move forward with clarity and charity.
Looking Forward to More Parish Events The Parish Potluck we had a few weeks back was a great time. We want to do something like this again, so mark your calendars for Sunday October 17 at 12:30. We will prepare for a Taste of St. Paul’s Event where families can bring their favorite dishes to share with others. More details to come.
